Camp John Hay
In 1903 Camp John Hay was originally developed by the US Armed Forces who recognized the area around Baguio as a good rest and recreation area for employees of the US military and Department of Defense due to its cooler climate. It was eventually turned over to the Philippine Government on July 1, 1991 then later on awarded to a private developer in 1997.
There are small settlements along the road, known as Camp 1 to 6 which were originally established by the original builders of the road. Now A popular golfing destination, the city takes pride in its Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay. What used to be the rest-and-recreation base of American military personnel, the Camp is now a world-class resort and is also Baguio's biggest pine tree conservation area.
Camp John Hay is a wonderful getaway with attractions like
horseback riding, golfing, or a butterfly sanctuary. It is a place where
you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy life.
