and we shall be launching a nationwide search and competition for a
“WOW Tour Guide” from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in
partnership with the Department of Tourism and SM SuperMalls.

We want to ignite the sense of nationalism among the youth sector
and help breed future tourism champions who can represent their
respective destinations and help create economic activity in their
regions by means of tour guiding.

We are providing FREE Tour Guiding Seminars at nine (9) SM SuperMalls
around the Philippines which will be conducted by the Department of Tourism.

As a strategic partners, we can include your logo on our website to be hyperlinked to your site
and in all promotional collaterals in exchange of constant updates of every WOW Tour Guide Caravan.
We can feed you with updates and images which you can use on your own site. Let me know your thoughts about this then probably you can email us your hi-res logo as we are on the process of finalizing all our marketing collaterals.

Participants of the WOW Tour Guide campaign can win P300,000 in the Grand Awarding Ceremony. The requirements are as follows:
• Must have completed a two (2) year course of a four (4) year collegiate course
• Have good moral character
• Proficient in the English language
• Extensive knowledge of the destination that will be represented in the competition
• Must complete the FREE Tour Guiding Seminars of the Department of Tourism at SM SuperMalls
• Must attend the Pre-Screening process of the Department of Tourism (DOT) to be conducted by the Tourism Standards Department with details below:

DOT Pre Screening Process
When: April 19 & 20 2010 (Mon-Tue)
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: 4F DOT Auditorium, T.M. Kalaw St. Ermita, Manila.

An official certificate will be issued by the Department of Tourism upon completion of the
entire Tour Guiding Seminar for four days.

Day 1: 22 April 2010 (Thursday)

10:30 am-12:00 pm – Overview of the Tourism Industry
12:00 pm – 1:30 pm - Break
1:30pm – 3:30 pm - Effective Communication Skills
3:30 pm - 5:30 pm - Basic First Aid

Day 2: 23 April 2010 (Friday)

10:00 am -10:30 am - Registration
10:30 am – 12:00 pm - Cultural Appreciation and Historical Perspective of Philippine History
1:30 pm-3:30 pm – Introduction to Guest Relations and Reception
3:30 pm-4:30 pm - Duties and Responsibilities of a Tour Guide
4:30 pm-5:30- pm - Practical Guiding Techniques

Day 3: 24 April 2010 (Saturday)
