Cafe Demitasse – A Great Hangout Place

Table of Contents

Cafe Demitasse is one of the cafes in Davao City that has gained quite a good following because of their food and service. Only a few years old, the café has undergone a major makeover to make way for a better vibe and menu.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Café Demitasse on social media and from friends for a long time now but I have not really had the chance to visit until recently. It’s not for lack of trying though; we attempted a couple of times but the café was always packed.

Café Demitasse is located along F. Torres St, very close to my old high school, Davao City National High School, more popularly known as City High. To get there you’ll have to ride a jeepney that passes by J.P. Laurel Avenue, asked to be dropped at Fair Lanes and ride a tricycle to the café.

If coming from downtown Davao, you can also ride a jeepney with the “High School” route and stop at City High. You can walk the rest of the way to Café Demitasse which is just on the next block. If still in doubt, you can always grab a cab. 🙂

Good Value Food

Café Demitasse serves your usual café fare: coffee, smoothies, cakes, pastries and pasta. But it does not stop there. They also offer wide range of hot meals, pizza, sandwiches, soups, salads, crepes, all-day breakfast and even group shared meals.

Most of the servings at Café Demitasse are good for 2 people, even 3 if you’re not too hungry. Their food is affordably-priced, not exactly cheap, but you get good value considering the serving size and flavor.

One of their best sellers is the creamy carbonara so that was what I ordered. And true enough, it is very creamy and therefore heavy on the tummy. The serving is quite large; the husband and I took a while to finish it off. Adie had their Buffalo Chicken Wings but we requested that they make sure it’s not too spicy for a child. They gladly complied and my little girl thoroughly enjoyed her meal.

We also ordered their sans rival for dessert. It was also delicious but I’d still go for Lachi’s Sans Rival. Their meringue is not crunchy, instead it is quite gooey. It provided a different texture but the flavor is also perfect.

Comfy Ambiance and Great Service

Café Demitasse sports a girly-girly vibe complete with pastel colors and floral booths. It’s girly enough to attract women but not too much to make their male companions uncomfortable. The interior is generously adorned with decorative plants which add a fresh twist to the entire theme. The café is also well-lit and decorated with mirrors that reflect the light.

Another great feature of Café Demitasse is their friendly and considerate staff. From the guard who assists you in parking and counter staff that greets you in chorus to the knowledgeable waitress who’s never hesitant to recommend their best dishes, you’re assured of good service in the café.

Perfect for Intimate Gatherings

Café Demitasse has small function rooms that can accommodate a good number of guests. The rooms are located in the upstairs area, perfect for small parties and gatherings. One of my good friends actually got married in the café itself. They had the intimate ceremony and the reception in one place. Talk about convenience!

Café Demitasse is indeed one of the go-to places cafes in Davao City. It’s a great place to hang out, have lunch or spend an afternoon catching up on your reading or with good friends. I would definitely recommend going to this place.
