Lunch with a View at Popskie’s Davao

Table of Contents

The last two years have been good to mom-and-pop-style businesses in Davao City. Landowners and homeowners opened their properties to the public, catering to the Dabawenyos’ ever-growing appetite for good food and relaxing ambiance. Popskie’s Davao is one such restaurant in suburban Davao.

We came across this open-air cafe during one of our trips up Eden Road last year. A lot of restaurants have opened in this area including one of our favorites Jamelle Gardens Cafe. Popskie’s Davao is much closer to Toril’s center, making it more popular to those looking for a quick bite away from the crowds. Our family loves stopping by Popskie’s after church on Sundays for brunch.

Getting There

Popskie’s Davao is located at Purok 1B Sitio Luac Eden Road Brgy. Bayabas, Toril Davao City. We’re about 15 minutes from Popskie’s because we moved to the suburbs in March. Coming from downtown Davao, travel time may take up to an hour, depending on traffic. Commuting by jeepney is possible but you would have to transfer to a tricycle or motorcycle to go up Eden Road.

Popskie’s Davao Menu

What absolutely love about Popskie’s Davao is their well-thought our menu. Everything looks good and everything we have tried so far tasted very good, too! They have large servings as well — worth every peso you pay for each dish.

Here’s what’s on offer:

A Family Favorite

Over the past months, we have come up with our new favorite places to eat in Davao. We’re at least half an hour away from downtown now so we’ve started exploring places in the hills of Toril. Eden Nature Park is quite close but as Adie would put it, “we’ve been there a million times.”

We find the food at Popskie’s very satisfying. Their offerings are a mix of Filipino classics and some foreign fare given a local twist. We especially like their bihon guisado and breakfast bowls. I recently tried their chicken mango salad and their dressing is TDF!

Here are some photos of food we’ve had at Popskie’s Davao during the few times we’ve dined there:

We’ve dined at Popskie’s Davao at least five times this year. We keep coming back because of the fresh air, the view of Davao Gulf and the overall ambience of the place. It feels like dining in an oversized treehouse looking out into a lush forest.

Their tagline says they’re “a gastronomic escape in the city overlooking a scenic view of the countryside.” Scenic, indeed. Checkout Popskie’s Davao and experience one of south Davao’s finest. Eat, eat, repeat!
